The 15th century Panji Stories recount romantic adventures between Javanese princes and princesses. These unique Puppets are handmade by a Master Puppeteer Carver in a small village of Central Java. They are carved from tropical mask wood and dressed in hand woven cotton. Every puppet is individually painted and adorned with hand beaten brass-ornaments in the old style of the Panji puppetry tradition.
